Where this came from

We came to surplus funds through heir research. Our day-to-day work is locating the rightful owners of property after a death — building family trees, tracking down heirs who moved three states away decades ago, and assembling the documentation that makes an ownership claim provable.

Doing that work, we kept running into the same thing: a house had already gone to foreclosure or tax sale, the sale had produced a real surplus, and the family had no idea. Nobody had told them, and the claim needed exactly the research we were already doing. Overage Desk is that observation, built out properly.

How we are structured

We are a research and claims-preparation firm, not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, we do not appear in court, and we never hold your money.

What we do is the part that takes time and infrastructure: monitoring sales, reconstructing payoffs, analyzing liens, locating claimants, and building heirship records. Then a licensed Texas attorney reviews the file, files the claim, and appears at the hearing. The court disburses. That separation is deliberate, and it is the correct way to do this.

How we work

• We tell you the number first. Including when it is zero. A free review that only produces good news is not a review.
• We put it in writing. The fee, in percent and dollars, before you sign anything.
• We do not take your property. No deeds, no assignments, no power of attorney beyond the claim itself.
• We tell you that you can do this yourself. Because you can, and you should hear it from us.
• We finish the hard files. The deceased-owner, six-heirs, no-probate-ever-opened files that other companies abandon are the ones we are built for.
